International Buckskin Horse
Association, Inc....
Welcome
to the International Buckskin Horse Association. The worlds largest
registry of Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, and Grulla Horses.
The original concept of the
International registry was formed as the International Buckskin Horse
Registry in California and subsequently moved to Indiana in 1970 for
incorporation in the state of Indiana.
IBHA was incorporated in
1971 to register, preserve the pedigree and promote the activity of Buckskin,
Dun , Red Dun, and Grulla Horses. IBHA has proven to be the
largest and most progressive registry in the world for these horses. By
creating interests and demands through nation, state, family and
individual activities, the marketability of IBHA registered horses
has constantly increased. Activities are promoted through state
chartered associations and national advertising. IBHA maintains
permanent horse show records and pedigrees. The official publication
"Equine National", provides members with current registry
information on a monthly basis.
IBHA maintains a strong leadership role in
the Color Breed Council and is a member body of the American
Youth Horse Council. In addition, IBHA is a supporting member
of the United States Equestrian Team.
In
2002, IBHA entered into a strategic marketing alliance with
the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) that will
increase exposure for Buckskin and Dun horses and positions
IBHA as the acknowledged authority for those horses.
In 2003 IBHA also became an Alliance member with NSBA. This
Alliance is for the mutual promotion of approved NSBA/IBHA
classes. NSBA presents special year end awards to IBHA horses.
