Youth Corner News May 2008Convention this year
was fun and educational. The speakers were very knowledgeable
and the meetings informative. Anyone showing IBHA will benefit
from attending. Several things effecting the Youth came to be
this year. The most significant change for Youth is alignment
with AQHA rules. All Youth and trainers should read the rule
book for changes in scoring and class specifications.
Entries for the Team Tournament and Judging Contest will be
coming soon. Youth Team Advisors will want to read the rules as
there are some minor changes in the Judging Contest rules.
The Youth Committee will hold two fund raisers this year. One
will be a drawing for gas cards. The Charter delegates were
given twenty tickets to be sold by their charter for $5
each. The winners will be drawn at the World Show in
August. First place is a $300 gas card; second place is a $200
gas card. Youth Committee will also host Dog Races on Wednesday
evening of the World show following the Free Style
Reining. Start sprinting those puppies to be in condition for
the races!! Details will be coming.

Youth Corner News
September 2007
Gateway and the World Shows were a whirlwind of
activity for eight days. What an enjoyable time for all. The stall
decorations were fantastic from all states.
The entire barn was changed into an old west
town with a jail, saloon, general store, blacksmith shop, train
station complete with a locomotive, and many other store fronts. The
judges had their work cut out for them. When the decision was in,
Iowa’s team consisting of Nathan Erickson, Cassie Hanft, Whitney
Cowie, Makenzie Maas, Kimberly Maxwell and Katherine Maxwell was
declared the champion with the Illinois team of Tierney Dalton,
Rebecca Bencsik and Avery Nowak coming in reserve. Great job
everyone!!!
Team Tournament was a hard fought battle.
Taking the championship was the team from Colorado which included
Jessica Butler, Shayla Foster, Madison Harman, Kinsey Hindman, Julie
Meining, Briittany Miller, Jackie Nale, Sandra Panowicz, and Tiana
Shelton. The Illinois team was reserve. Congratulations to all who
participated.
The Youth fund drawing for gas cards was done
at the exhibitor’s party with Excel Associates winning the $300 card
and Sandy Hall winning the $200 card.
Youth teams, it is time to start brainstorming
for decorations for 2008 with the theme “Buckskins and Blues” in
Memphis. Can’t wait to see what we have in the barns for this!
